PRCC-PROP-01 · Section 14The Ask

First, from PRactitioners. Then, the wider profession.

Before this goes to any other body, we ask our own council and members to back it — and to mandate the founding steps.
The Ask
From PRactitioners — now

Three asks of our own council and members, before this goes anywhere else.

I

Endorse the direction

A clear signal from members and council that PRactitioners should lead the building of a national standard.

II

Mandate the Working Group

Authorise a founding working group drawn from our members to finalise the framework and run the pre-mortem.

III

Underwrite as Interim Convener

Agree that PRactitioners stands the Council up as Interim Convener and Underwriter — with a constitutional exit trigger once the participation threshold is met, so the role is finite by design.

Then — to the wider profession

Three asks of the bodies, the critics, and the Minister.

IV

Bring your conversations to the room

If you are already in exploratory discussion with credible bodies, bring those conversations into the pre-mortem working session. One structure, shaped by all.

V

Strategic endorsement & co-owned pre-mortem

Invite IPRM, PRCA Malaysia and other bodies to strategic endorsement, working-group seats, and a pre-mortem co-owned by supporters and sceptics. The critics' questions become the agenda.

VI

Ministerial recognition & legacy equivalency

Seek the Communications Minister's recognition (endorsement, not control), the procurement reference, and in-principle support to grandfather existing credentials.

A note on tone

Every objection in the proposal was raised by a senior practitioner who supports the profession's progress. They are treated as design requirements, not opposition. Bring your conversation to the room — the Working Group is one structure shaped by all.
